About Me
Growing Up:
My name is Daniel Newton, and most of my life has revolved around the military. My parents are both Marine Corps veterans. I was born in Japan and lived my youth in North Carolina and Missouri. After a failed attempt at college, I joined the Marine Corps and became a Signals Intelligence Collector/Analyst. I have traveled to many places, including one deployment to Afghanistan in 2018. I have been separated from military service since February of 2020, and served five years active duty. I currently reside in Virginia, and work for the contracting agency named CACI-Athena. I specialize in Telecommunications and Technology, and support the U.S. Government as an analyst.
Professional Experience:
I am progressing through a Bachelor's of Science in Information Technology at the University of Arizona. I have completed the Certified Telecommunications Network Specialist (CTNS) certification and specialize in cellular technology. I have been in the technological world since 2015 and have worked for the Marine Corps and CACI-Athena. I pride myself on learning the old and new technologies and work a lot with radios and anything that transmits RF (Radio Frequency). I have learned a lot about RF Theory and Radio Wave Propagation. More recently, I have dived into learning Python and Data Science. I have completed two mastery-level courses in Microsoft Excel and continue to expand upon my knowledge of computer programming languages.
My goal is to become a technologist at my current company and work my way into working for the White House communications team. I hope to discover more about the depth of Information Technology and hope to learn something that will enhance my marketability in my current job. The intent of this blog is to share knowledge and discoveries for tech enthusiasts and veterans.
